In any amp I repair If its using carbon composition types I replace them all. I suppose my reasoning is my warranty on the work and the extra hassle if something lets go.
Cathode resistors are often the big issue, if the resistor starts it inevitable downward value march up goes the cathode current so we have the scenario of output transformers, valves, choke and mains transformers working harder.
I get very few repairs that bounce back, most of my 405 line collection was overhauled 10-15 years ago and I have forgotten what some look like inside
I have come across "repairs" done by third parties with resistors hidden to bring back the value to spec, what is the point of that? I don't see the reasoning of it TBH you still have a resistor that is gradually changing and there is the noise factor as well in these old resistors, get em out is my reasoning.
