DOCSIS uses the MPEG-TS format and same DVB-c modulation for the downstream, only what is in the data stream is different (and encrypted). Upstream is different protocol and modulation. So you can only differentiate Analogue and Digital downstream. Some places here in Ireland still have radio (mix of Irish & UK) on Band II and some Analogue TV channels.
