Exactly. He wasn't an innovator, but he had zeal and energy. Cracking on, getting his TV working, demonstrating it, and kick-starting our TV industry and service is no mean achievement. And it didn't stop there - he had his video disc recordings too, he fooled around with colour TV, he inspired others. We owe him a big debt of gratitude.
