Oh, and the "signal present" circuit is DC coupled. So the LED might be stuck on because there is a negative DC offset on the output of the faulty channel. But in that case, the DC detect circuit (IC4, etc) should ensure the relay stays off, and then no signal should reach the signal-present circuit. Hmm...
