Thanks Jeffrey, that's more or less what I figured.
So to confirm...I'll cross bond the hot and cold water pipes where the plastic incomer comes in and connect that bond to the MET via a 10mm earth cable, that location is at one end of the house, at the other end of the house is the tank/boiler/airing cupboard etc at that location both hot and cold water pipes and central heating flow and return pipes are exposed and are in close proximity to each other, I'll cross bond all those together but omit running an earth cable from that location back to the MET, if that makes sense.
