Must have been pretty grim working on a collier ship in that winter of 1962/3. Any ice on the Thames!?
Did your ship go to Wandsworth, I would have thought low bridges after Tower Bridge would prevent it. Maybe you meant Woolwich. Although the ship is named "Wandsworth" so maybe it did go there.
