Since switching from XP to Linux (for Internet anyway), I use "Document Viewer 1.12.2" (Using poppler/cairo (0.24.5)) instead of Foxit, it reads the PDF fine. I've not used the Adobe one for over ten years due to constant security fails.
The PDF reader in Firefox should be "off" as should any Adobe / Foxit plug in to view PDF in a Web browser, which is as sensible as texting while riding a motorbike.
