The Ginger Tree brings back memories. I think I saw it either at an IBC or a lecture at IEE Savoy Place. The NHK transmission system was analogue with 1035 active lines out of 1125 total. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple_s...g_encoding  It had a limited life. I suppose it was akin to the CBS sequential colour system; a bit too early.
