Depends how you box it up - you also have the issue in that if it is floating and you're relying on that and some bit touches GND, maybe, just maybe, your very expensive laptop or PC might leave the building due to a few hundred voltage thingies in an unwelcome place
For the sake of a few quid, do you really want that risk?
