Zo = (L/C)^0.5 gives a clue that both inductance and capacitance are important parameters. Why people quote only one of these and then behave as if it is some proxy figure-of-merit for the line is beyond me.
I think - but I could be wrong - is that at AF the assumption is of 1/(ωCR) being the dominant effect to cause HF rolloff and other transmission line effects that rely upon matching the characteristic of the cable to its load are irrelevant?
