But the schematic you've shown does only have a single coil ferrite rod for AM and (presumably) a telescopic rod for SW/FM.
The transformer coupled loop is an option for AM only.
I agree the markings on the schematic aren't that clear but you can make them out without too much difficulty.
Thanks Terry, I think I need to take apart my CRT and adjust the focus. Now that you have explained it, it is obvious. So I think the Tesco Kitchen radio is thus exactly that. I noticed the LW / MW / VHF-FM switch only switched resistors, the pot on the tuning drive (with smaller drum than polycon earlier version). On the outside it looks like the earlier model which I put into a larger case with an 8" speaker!
