Thanks, I am afraid I haven't a clue what it is. I did my training before VHF, or even transistors came into the sylabus and anythying I have learned about them has just been from experience or trial and error. When I was tidying up, and dismantling old builds, I found a small acorn VHF set that I built over 20 years ago. I remembered how surprised I was when it worked, and just copied the wiring which is pretty simple. I can build a lot neater these days, and that is why I duplicated the original rather than getting the old one running agian. Once I have tidied up the coil area, it will look a lot smarter.
