Ever Ready took control of Lissen in 1928
The Lissen MD stayed on and fell out with them when it was found he'd bought Burndept and launched Vidor (1934?)
So in 1935 Ever Ready brought out many new models, these and others till 1941 were also sold in different cabinets under the Lissen brand.
Pye was involved, certainly produced the metal work of the chassis till maybe 1938 and many Lissen/Ever Ready models very similar designs either due to using same valves or actually same design.
I don't know how much of the chassis was Pye assembled.
Someone mentioned that Pye was involved in one of the London factories of Ever Ready.
All this ended with the Blitz, though the last Pye Chassis/Metal work seems to have been 1938.
The Ever Ready Models A, D and G based on 1939 Ever Ready / Lissen. Only the All Dry Portable (later as Model A) was made after 1941.
An amazing number of models of big mains Lissen/Ever Ready 1935 to 1940 and even giant radiograms, considering the motivation was to sell batteries!
I'd love a full photocopy or scan of the Dictron's Oct/Nov 1989 Pye story in some magazine. I have a couple of pages of them identifying some models same chassis (or metal work) as Pye.
I put a table on the Radio museum of all Lissen - Ever Ready I could identify. You can't go by scale and knob layout as sometimes they added metal plates to reposition two knobs and changed the position & style of speaker vs scale.
Ever Ready bought Mullard valves and re-labelled them, Pye seems to have strangely bought valves from Ever Ready at times!
At least one Pye / Ever Ready / Lissen model is Mazda or M.O., I forget.
It looks fabulous and I'm jealous. My Ever Ready 5017 looks very beat up in comparison!
