Thanks Alan, nice to be called young again
Funny when I think of if, I trained as a TV engineer but got moved into audio that I wasn't happy about at the time (1982) and more or less was involved with it till 1997 with Clydesdale, Serviscope & Sony, I then went to Mastercare and then went self employed and then it all shifted back to tellies in the main.
I actually enjoyed my audio days and took to it like duck to water. I was extremely lucky with the guys I worked with, Davy Johnstone was the organist with the Dead End Kids, he worked with me doing the amps, drum kits, synths and other stuff. The other guy Les Morton had a degree in Music and electronics, these guys were top notch so that and my electronics made the Audio dept one of the best in Scotland, to the extent myself and another engineer installed an organ in a certain farm outside Campbeltown for an EX Beatle.
Now I have decided to go back to amps and band gear I'm quite upbeat and I am hoping to do this as a self employed venture till and after I officially retire.
