Audiophoolery and urban myths, younger enthusiasts could be forgiven for these mistakes as thermionics is not taught in colleges anymore. They pick things written on the Internet and think that it's all true, like the getter support shape has an effect on sound quality and that the silvering on the inside is a measure of how old the valve might be. Anyway good luck with the rebuild.
