Hello chaps,
I've found this thread interesting and very informative, particularly as I've been given an AC18 to restore for the Black Country Museum and have been working on it today.
My example has the three capacitors in a soldered tinplate box, which has blown apart along three seams! It must have made a tidy bang at the time, and there are witness marks showing corrosion on the inside of the case. Anyway, I now know that the original values were 6 + 6 + 1 uF.
