Not sure to be honest Gary, they would have to read the small print, mining searches are the norm down here now for anyone buying a property with borrowed funds, there are basically two roads, researching records and then if required a full drilling survey, most of the records used by the mining search companies are held at the County Records Office and can be viewed by anyone for free, drilling under or around properties is a specialist job, my mate in the pictures does both, researches and drills.
The ground not far below the collar in that shaft looks good to me, if they do anything with it they will probably dig down and bench out at the good ground, build a sollar then fill with concrete.
