I've been in Israel for the last week. My phone is with Three. All Three users get free roaming to a lot of countries including most of Europe, US, and Israel. Calls to Israel numbers cost me 13p/min but didn't need to use this as Viber (a VOIP service, a bit like Skype) kept me in touch with my Israeli friends. Mobile coverage in Israel is excellent and free wifi very widespread.
It would have been useful to have a tablet as typing gets tedious on a phone.
