Having looked at prices on Ebay - £30 and up - I can see your point!
There is a used X5M for £8 but, even if it is working, the rather gloomy picture shows no evidence of a stylus!
I could let you have a BSR SC12M which should replace the X5M and, being a stereo cartridge, be kinder to your record collection!
If you are interested in playing 78s, I have one with a Sapphire LP/78 stylus or I could let you have one with Diamond dual LP tips.
I don't know how the output of the SC12M compares with the X5M but, alternatively, I have the SX12H, again with choice of stylus but, in this case, both are Diamond.
Would £5 better suit your pocket?
Postage will be the killer - £2.80 for a small parcel - but, if you're interested, I'll look and see if it is possible to repackage it safely whilst keeping inside the 2.5cm large letter thickness.
I find it intensely infuriating that we have to pay a premium price to post what, in this case, could be a secure parcel so small that there wouldn't enough room for both the recipients address and the stamp! ![[Image: wall.gif]](http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii16/ktype_photo/sm/wall.gif)
Alternatively, there is the Southern Meet-up on 20th March, if you are still coming.
