Following on from the above, having extracted thre HDD from the Yamaha CDR-HD1500 maybe a couple of weeks ago, only to find that the computer couldn't 'read' it, I've refitted it in the Yamaha nad it's now 'all systems go' again. The Music tracks are still on the HD, and, each time I've tried the machine, it, at any rate, plays the HD correctly(haven't tried to record anything on it), switches from HD to CD and back again without problems, and can be completely switched off, left unpowered for several hours, powers up again and operates as it should. PSU Voltages are normal, and no sign of what caused the fault. Could have been something as simple as a bad connection between the IDE Ribbon cable and the HDD, but I can't prove it!!!
