Varistor between Live and (safety) Earth

Hi Gents, not sure what the current position is WRT 17th ed, but several years ago the 5mA limit was applied to pluggable appliances, it was much higher for fixed (wired in appliances).
Thorn used this trick on their early microwaves that had quite high values of RIFA Y caps to meet EMC requirements.
