Jeepers Gary - looking at that drawing, I feel even more inadequate now, both in terms of the complexity of the set, and the neat drawing of the circuit!

That meticulous attention to detail is more like forensic science than radio restoration.

I am not worthy!

Well, I'm sure you could master the drwg package if you set yourself to it.  Just a case of reading and using a marvellous forum for almost instant help.

Here's a pic of the chassis before I stripped it:  I didn't want to but most of the rubber covered wire was shot and it had O/C sections in the bandpass coil.  Opening that wasn't easy but Mike B did a great job of re-winding.  Really doing such diagrams is the only way if you are going to have a chance of a Philips chassis (lots of complication) working when back together which it did first time.

Redrawing the Philips circuit diagram was essential as well, apart from not being in too good a condition they are terrible to understand particularly around the marvellously made switches.  Understanding that and constantly checking back and forth to the drawn layout diagram helped to get both correct.
