These won't have IDE. Never had cause to use them, but I'm told they work as advertised...
I'd guess the old drive is relatively small, so hardly worth the effort of installing - it's just one more thing to go wrong. Personally, I'd just do a temporary lash-up while the wanted data is copied across (while being careful not to infect the new machine
