You won't do better for the money. These machines will be a *lot* better than the machine you have, and should you feel the need to upgrade in the future, they will take modern CPUs up to an i7 (second-generation Sandy Bridge at that: http://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/showp...p?p=787457&postcount=25)
Some of these machines are making their way to Oxfordshire, so I'm sure you'd be able to join in. While arrangements haven't been finalised yet, I think that I'm collecting mine from that neck of the woods - and depending on exactly where in Oxfordshire you live, I might even be able to drop one in for you.
Seriously, given the disproportionate amount of trouble you have with your PC, the time has come to get rid. Please understand that it is impossible to logically fault-find a PC that clearly is riddled with nasties, and remember that it quite possibly has hardware faults by now - which is why I for one have given up trying. But I would gladly help you get a new PC up and running in any way I can. Please, do yourself a favour. It's £25, or £35 if you have the OS installed for you. If it's practical for me to deliver, I won't ask for a penny for doing so. What more can I say?
