Jeffrey is quite correct on the 4 + 4 and using electrolytics but you could of course, and I do this on some early radios, replace with poly items. I haven't studied the cardboard case that much but it may well take 4 time 2.2 uF types. This assume you are doing a restore as an educational exercise and are not bothered about final value, which is pretty much zilch!
Just taken a 2.2 uF at 400V poly out of stores its 40mm long by 15mm diameter. Unit should work for ever with those in it in our terms LOL.
