I can remember that when I was about 12, I played with (aka wrecked) a Bakelite battery radio which also used a "printed" circuit. The filament wiring was just a pair of parallel strips of copper but this set also had strips crossing others as little bridges - just like the schematics show. I have no idea of the make but boy, was it a simple set!
