It was well worth calling us experts in.
I have now got the output stages running and they sound really nice. The preamps need quite a bit of work as the coupling capacitors are leaky and difficult to get at.
The stain on the power supply capacitor was a flux stain and once that was cleaned off it reformed and both channels are now good on the line in socket.
There is quite a mix of components including some that look quite modern but the solder looks more modern too on those parts so they will have been fitted during repairs.
I had to sort out a few silly faults like an open circuit speaker connector and a loose wire on the other output transformer and an open circuit power supply link cable.
The level indicator on the right channel does not indicate anything but the fact that the diode is open circuit would account for that. I am pretty sure I have a spare.
Both of the EM84s are bright.
The small TCC electrolytic capacitors are green to the eye but look a little bit blue on camera. The closest I have seen to these are the very early 1960s grey RS ones.
I am not a date code expert on valves but there is no harm in posting a photo or two. They are from the yellow print era for sure.
I have shown some of the RS parts to make dating easier as it looks confusing.
