Hi Trevor,
well after almost seventeen years the rebuilt Ekco TV is up and running as it should. The poor old thing had been in the workshop since the cabinet reconstruction in the late nineties. Occasionally I'd do something to it and then some other project would get started and the set was put aside again.
There is another Ekco TV set awaiting attention in the workshop, the model TSC1113. This is the pop up screen model, the one with the big scary 15" round Mazda CRT. It also has big scary mains derived EHT. 10KV from a voltage doubler!
Two 0.1mfd TCC Visconol capacitors are employed in the doubler circuit. These will require attention first.
The TSC1113 will be introduced as a new topic soon.
