This must be the longest lasting thread on the forum, with the most posts (225) and views (27,000), spanning four winters - indeed it's lasted so long that nine of the contributors are no longer forum members. The last few posts back in 2013 drifted off topic, away from woodworm and wiring to pop music and leggy blondes, both of which I admit to being easy distractions for me!

Out of curiosity, I wondered if the radio ever did get finished?  

I know that making a replacement tuning spindle for the original one posed quite a challenge, as illustrated in Alan's drawing it post No 102.
