I received an AC128 transistor today to try and find this hiss in the audio so lets see how that goes....
I've not got any freezer spray yet as there is no Wickes around here but thanks for the tip, I'll get some when across in Edinburgh next week.
A K7000 Velleman is now on order from ESR along with some of the components to make up the probes but he never had and 1kV caps or germanium diodes, I'll source elsewhere.
The bush has a OA70 detector diode, will the OA90 as mentioned in Yorkie's post on this matter do the job if I can source?
On the Hacker sovereign front, I have Volume and Bass pot crackle problems, The bass pot doesn't seem to do much after the first few degrees, no bass then full bass.
Both MW and LW are weak only pulling in a couple of channels but low volume at that, although FM is working very well, great sound from this set. I've read Mark H's post on Hacker pots so more investigation required.
Has anyone got a service manual for this? Sovereign II RP25. I've had a look for a serial number but he only number I can see is stamped on the underside of the top of the chassis 05138. It does have AF117s and a Goodmans speaker and at least 1 Daly cap. I think I should start a new post on this.
