Edit Reason: Added A VO 8 txt

I think we've all been there at some point Alan.
One of my ageing motorcycles was getting treated to a new electronic ignition but would it fire right? would it hell! simple system, optical pick-ups, amplifier, darlington pair power transistors and new coils for the spark plugs. The fault??? Optical pick-ups, it was sunny!!! oh how I laughed....
Great fun though
I had an AVO8 Mark but sold it at a car boot during a major clearout. My HT power supply went to the skip once my Ferranti valve set was repaired, I was flitting and I couldn't keep everything. One of the biggest casualties of that flit was all my home brew gear, 3 rota kegs etc etc....
Wish I kept the AVO though, thought it was not much use then, digital was king...until I learnt differently, even setting up said ignition system would have been so much easier looking for the slight change in deflection and not trying to watch numbers....Live and learn :-)
Ordered my caps today, once fitted and hopefully no hiss I intend to start a new post with this repair to maybe help others, would that be useful in such a knowledgable forum?
