Wear on Self Centering Chucks is a fact of life. My Chipmaster has what I suspect is the original Bernerd one, and pretty battered it is. You see them adverised on ebay for silly money simply because of the name, but there's no reason to believe they're any good. Even new Jaws won't solve wear on the Scroll.
I bought a replacement East European one, from RDG I think, which works fine for what I want, and of course there's always the 4-Jaw.
I may get one of those for my little Lathes as the originals are pretty grim, even when new.
