If opting for option 1 it would be worth adding a DC blocking capacitor before the probe,. It might just save the output stage in the event the probe touching the wrong place.
That's pretty good going - I get quite a bit less than that from my Sony MP3 player.
The addition of a capacitor is good advice. If especially worried, you could add back to back diodes as well.
