An obvious place to put it would be Websites - anyone is free to start a thread there. Go for it
As I look through that forum, it strikes me that perhaps it's not the ideal way to present links. There are a lot of clicks required to browse resources in that forum. Maybe there is a better way? Maybe we should just have a single list of useful links in an easily-accessible form? We could write a "sticky" post in that forum, and mods could add new links to it in response to suggestions? But then, the advantage of the present format is that people can discuss the websites in the thread...
I've not updated it for years, but I have an "old-school" links page on my website: http://www.markhennessy.co.uk/links.htm
There's a bit of DIY-Javascript to break down the links into different categories, which makes the whole thing a bit more manageable. There is provision for comments, and if you use IE, you can even get a preview. Now, it might be possible to create a similar thing in our "Help" section - perhaps with a direct link to the page somewhere in the header. It won't be as easy to maintain as a simple post in the forum, but not impossible.
Against that, the increasing effectiveness of search engines really means that links pages like mine are arguably something that belongs to the last millennium. Perhaps the real value of our present "Websites" forum is the discussion that often results?
Anyway, it's not a high priority task, but any thoughts or ideas are welcome...
