This is a great little gizmo!
Some months ago, Colin kindly made one for me, and I've used it several times to good effect. It's one of those little gadgets which you can't imagine being without!
I've attached a pic of some capacitors I've reclaimed onto which I've added new leads using the wire coiler. As can be seen, it makes a much neater and stronger joint than simply crimping the wires over each the in the time honoured fashion.
Where it really comes into its own is when you get a vavlholder in a confined space with several leads soldered to one pin, which you don't ereally want to distrub. You can clip the faulty component out, leaving sat 1cm of wire still attached to the valveholder tag, then coil the end of the new component lead, slip it over the wire tail on the tag, and solder it. It makes an otherwise tricky job very simple!
