You would think so seeing that PL81's seem to be only used commercially as line output valves, but Philips made the HI-Fi audio amplifier AG 9006 which uses a pair of EL81's as the output valves, it's seems rather strange since Philips could have used any of the valves from their dedicated audio range.
I've never seen this particular amplifier but it is referred to in the book, 'From Microphone to Ear' by 'G Slot' and published by Philips Technical Library.
