Looking at my valve stock and what is being sold in large quantities on ebay and other sites, the bulk of low cost valves are predominantly TV types.
The question in my mind is for what other uses such valves could be applied.
The common valves used in radios that are for sale are getting fewer and more expensive.
The audio valves are being snapped up by the audiophools for ever rising prices.
Common twin triodes are going through the roof price-wise, output valves even more so.
So what could we use instead?
EF80, ECL80, etc I can see being easily applied for other uses, but what about the thousands of P series that are in enthusiasts stocks?
Is PL81 usable in audio? Are PCC84 , PCF80 usable?
Perhaps it is time we created alternative circuit to use these and similar 'tubes'
Is there a viable alternative to EABCxx? Part silicon possibly.
Someone asked recently about EYzz eht rectifiers, any good use for them now?
There seem to be thousands of CV series for which there is no direct civvy equivalents, could those experts out there find near equivalent usable numbers?
