Hi Alan, Formo made and advertised coils as well as other parts in most of the popular wireless press in the 20's and 30's, but I've never seen that particular specimen.
It is a similar format to Telsen and similar coils from that era, but approx. twice the size.
The 6 pin format was also popular in the era, and was, I believe, used with some Eddystone coils, but again I'm not sure if yours is on a larger scale.
I'll try and have a look in my old mags when I get back in a few weeks to see if I can trace it.
