Well, it has got finished !
Playing in the lounge as I type. It works very well, sensitive and selective. I have yet to sit and evaluate its SW capabilities.
From the earlier pictures you may notice that it has a new correct set of knobs. Very beautifully turned and brass bushed for me 'down under'.
Next time I use them I'm going to spray those metal clad resistors matt black, they are too in my face. I contemplated de-mounting them and doing the re-paint but it was a fiddly job and there are gold tube cans so its passable. They are once again needed to drop the high mains voltage into a generously wound mains transformer. It was getting too hot and the heaters were close to 3V !
