Thanks Mark. "Not much chat on Facebook", eh? Just as well, 'cause I never use it. However, a useful and informative forum it once was - even if a substantial percentage of the really heavy and detailed stuff went clean over my head! 
It was quite obvious to me that there were a lot of active or retired professional engineers there. Some of the posts were a bit of a 'give away': unique and almost unknown gems of knowledge of products from the likes of Tektronix, Hewlett-Packard, Anritsu, etc.
