Hmm, yes - I see what you mean: it kinda has a "looks too new" appearance to it. Unless, of course, a very enthusiastic vintage radio restorer has had it through his skilled and capable hands! Ho-hum.
I've just viewed the BBC video again - and I got the distinct feeling that I was actually watching an episode of Wallace and Grommit!
However, he's in his own little world and - to all external appearances - is quite happy and content. What else matters? Is that not one of the prime objectives of us all?
