The device I am thinking of building is a CD/MP3 player to match a valve HIFI system and I want something that can be repaired if it fails.
It would use a drive from a desktop computer and be super long play with the music on a DVD.
The posh one would have to be bought for the stereo audio.
There is little difference in price with the RPi.
Linux is an advantage over the RPi.
