Yes, there's no doubt that despite the widely held view to the contrary, Marconi was not the inventor of radio. I mentioned Loomis in the article 'The Creators of Wireless Communication', issue 128, Radio Bygones (Christmas 2010) along with numerous others, all predating Marconi and/or inventing the essential elements of modern-day radio.
