Yes, there is a terminology problem - RCDs and MCBs.
My (old) Box just had one RCD which protected everything - I never liked the Split Boxes with half protected and half not. However, I installed separate RCDs for the Garage and Garden to avoid those areas taking the House out.
You really shouldn't be tripping the RCD unless there's a leak. Are you PMEd? I would think you are as it's new.
