Yes, my B40 Trips the Garage RCD on occasion, and my big Variac trips the Ring Breaker sometimes.
I have to say Gary your installation doesn't sound very generous. At our last House, which I rewired, there were 12; Downstairs, Upstairs and Attic, twice for Ring and Lights, plus Conservatory, Garage and Garden. Finally, in a fit of pessimism, I put an extra Circuit in the Kitchen for the big stuff - 15th Edition recommendation - and an extra backup Lighting Circuit to the Garage 'cause I didn't want to be standing there in the dark with a Lathe running if I got a Garage Trip.
