Thanks Lawrence; yes conifers are easy to handle but my Screwfix Titan shredder wouldn't shred conifers at all; it kept jamming up it even disliked shredding laurels but I made it shred them a couple of years ago shredding over 150 bags of laurel taking six weeks; the shredded material was then used as deep mulch around the gardens. I've just sold the shredder and when I need another shredder I'll upgrade ensuring it will shred conifers and laurels without a fight? The Screwfix Titan shredder was incredibly hard tiring work.
I wonder if they called "International rescue" to retrieve the crane?
I've now done a few more miles in the Skoda Roomster Scout Colin and think I now know the reason the engine is still pulling at 30mph without my foot on the accelerator? This Roomster has a rev counter installed and it appears 1,000rpm in top gear equates near enough to 30mph? At tick-over this Roomster is doing 1,000rpm which seems a bit fast to me; I thought 800rpm would be better? This also explains why the Roomster slowed when I dropped a gear? As you rightly say though Colin its just a case of getting used to a different driving style. On the level in a 30mph zone this tick-over is perfect. On an incline and wanting to accelerate in high gear it won't but if I drop a gear it sure moves forward; I've only driven a few miles in this Roomster but am quickly adjusting to it. I know too slow a tick-over is bad news for the big ends.
Returning home from Halford's yesterday we drove past the Skoda dealer and noticed a number of brand new Skoda's in their car park obviously having just been delivered so hopefully our new Monte will be one of them?
