I think it was actually the reflection of the blue sky that affected the earlier pic. (Not a problem you'll have to contend with in Fenay Bridge too often!). It's a bit cloudy today so I've taken another quick pic which is attached. The highlights are a bit blue, and again, I think it must be the reflection of the sky. Like you, I can't say I'm overly impressed with the close-up setting on this Nikon Coolpix L28 camera, but in fairness I haven't looked at the instructions in detail. It give 18 settings to choose from and I mostly use it on close-up or landsacapes. It would help I think if I used a tripod for close-ups and used a little 'photo-booth' or whatever they call them. Maplin and the likes sell them - I guess for people who put lots of pics of small items on e-bay.
