Hi,
I too ended up with a black item turning out blue using my camera David and like you I'm not into playing around with camera adjustments only wanting to point and shoot; in my case it was a black Poly-V belt which was blue in the picture but it's the item in relation to the text which counts unless of course the colour is of some importance?
Your woodturning is top class David as Bron and I know having a selection of your turned items on display in our front room including one of your cube puzzles which must have taken you a lot of time and patience to turn; one slip of the tool and the puzzle would be ruined? Lovely workmanship.
Wood/plastic turning is rather like digging a hole in the garden; a small hole leaves a mountain of dirt; wood/plastic turning is just the same in that the waste peeled away has incredible volume compared to before turning; plastic is lovely material to turn coming away in long clinging ribbons and as you say David plastic can be turned either on a wood or metal turning lathe with ease.
