Double glazing units.

Hi,

Thanks Lawrence. Our bungalow faces more west than south and we see lots of beautiful sunsets from our front room window. The sun streams in all afternoon (when its out) and is relentless; we installed dark roller blinds years ago which considerably help to control the fierce glare.

Many thanks Colin for your positive reply and information which is most useful and of help to me. Even if I wanted to install plain traditional glass units the law now prevents me from doing so because of building regulations. I've been looking at Pilkington K glass and note most new builds have this glass installed to the inner pane only so I think this will be the glass to choose for us. I've now established all the measurements so am just about ready to order the new units.

Pity I can't bottle heat up for winter because I'm wet having just carried lots of laurel branches from our rear garden to the front driveway and have had to knock off to cool down which makes a change?
