I just keep 150psi on the Tank. The filtered Outlet is at 90psi, which is what most Tools seem to require. Clearly a bigger Motor or smaller Pulley would have eased the demand on the Motor, especially during Startup where it has to contend with the 90psi lower Trip Point.
I'm continuously intrigued/amused/infuriated by the idea that Compressors should be defined by the power of the Motor. Why? It's clearly a fatuous idea unless the Motor, Pulley, speed, etc are matched to the Pump. What you really need to know is the Pressure and the Flow available. I'm sure there's plenty of scope for the scam-merchants to fit a bigger Motor without making any other changes and claiming it's 'Bigger'.
Anyway, I've bitten the Bullet and ordered a new Compressor. Just a small one from Screwfix. At least with my new Distribution System I can just plug it in.
I'll report later with luck.
